Catholic Leads Area Wrestling in the Lee High Invitational
The wrestling team led all local schools with its 4th place finish at the highly competitive Lee High Invitational. The Bears scored a total of 197 points. Coach Prochaska was pleased with the team’s performance and excited about the improvements that can still be made.
The team qualified 9 out of 14 members into the quarter finals of the tournament. Four of those, Matt Guidry (103), Jeff Falcon (119), Trent Fresina (130), and Brian Parenton (145), continued to the Semi Finals. In the Semi’s Guidry (7-3), Falcon (8-3), and Fersina (7-6) won their matches. Parenton lost his semi final match, but lead the team in the wrestle backs on his way to an overall third place finish. Falcon won the individual title defeating his opponent 7-2. Guidry and Fersina finished with 2nd place individual performances. A final recap is as follows:
