CHS 2020 Homecoming Queen Crowned

Catholic High School crowned its 2020 Homecoming Queen, Jennifer Rose Sims, at the homecoming game on Friday, October 30. The CHS homecoming court was selected by the seniors at Catholic High School. Then, the senior class voted on the queen. The members of the homecoming court were escorted by their fathers and members of the CHS Student Council. All six members of the homecoming court are seniors at St. Joseph’s Academy.  They are Allie Canova, Corinne Carnaggio, Anna Camille Eagleton, Emma Grace Shannon, Brooke Shiflett, and Jenny Sims.

The 2020 Homecoming Queen, Miss Jennifer Rose Sims, is the daughter of John and Renee Sims. Jenny is a graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School. At SJA, she is a four-year year member of the Latin Club and is a member of the Ultimate Frisbee team.  She has also participated in the Criminal Justice Club, Youth and Government, and Drama Club.  Additionally, Jenny volunteers with St. Vincent DePaul Society, Mary’s Angels, and in her spare time runs a free babysitting service for families who cannot afford child care.

Miss Alexandra Grace Canova is the daughter of Brad and Monica Canova. Allie is a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School. At SJA, Allie is a four-year member of Mu Alpha Theta, Student Council, and Science Club. This year Allie is also a member of Student Ministry, National Honor Society, Liturgy Committee, Respect Life Club, Spanish Club, the Criminal Justice Club, Literary Ladies Society, and SJA Ambassadors. Allie has earned the SJA Service Award for the past three years.

Miss Corinne Marie Carnaggio is the daughter of Lonnie and Michelle Carnaggio. Corinne is a graduate of St. George Catholic School. At St. Joseph’s Academy, Corinne is a three-year member of the Beta Club and a letterman for the track and field team where she competes in the pole vault. In addition, this year she is a member of Student Ministry and National Honor Society.  Corinne has earned the SJA Service Award for the past three years.

Miss Anna Camille Eagleton is the daughter of Bernie and Wren Eagleton. She is a graduate of St. Aloysius Catholic School. Anna Camille is a four-year member of the CHS/SJA Choral Program, cross country team, track and field team, Student Council, Liturgy Committee, and Mu Alpha Theta. As a senior, Anna Camille is also a member of National Honor Society, Student Ministry, Student Ambassadors, and serves as president of the SJA Liturgy Committee.  She also has earned the SJA Service Award for the past three years.

Miss Emma Grace Shannon is the daughter of Dr. Stephen and Kelli Shannon. She is a graduate of St. George Catholic School Emma Grace is a four-year member of the Spanish Club and the St. Joseph Academy cheerleading squad where she serves as captain. This year she is also involved in National Honor Society, Student Ambassadors, Science Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and Liturgy Committee. Emma Grace has also earned the SJA Service Award for the past three years.

Miss Brooke Hanna Shiflett is the daughter of Todd Shiflett and Angela Hill. Brooke is a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School. At St. Joseph’s, Brooke is a four-year member of the Liturgy Committee and participated in the 200 m dash for the track and field team.  She is also a two-year member of the Catholic High cheerleading squad and the SJA student ministry team. Additionally, Brooke has earned the SJA Service Award for the past three years.
