Also honored were the 60-, 65-, 70- and 75-year graduates from the classes of 1948, 1943, 1938 and 1933. The event was sponsored by the CHS Alumni Association.

The evening began with Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral celebrated by Father Jerry Young ’54.

Participating in the Mass were 1958 class members Huey Brown, Lad Cazedessus, Roger del Rio, Norman Ferachi, Roger Melancon and Robert Romans.

Following the Mass, honorees gathered in the Catholic High Centennial Courtyard and the Health & Physical Education Center Plaza for a social.

The school gymnasium was the setting for a steak dinner prepared by the CHS Men’s Club and organized by Pete Hymel, Junior Politz and Rudy Valenciano. Waiters for the evening were members of the Key Club, under the direction of Scott Losavio ’95; and Student Ambassadors, under the direction of Mrs. Sherie LeBlanc. Brother Barry Landry, SC, CHS principal, served as master of ceremonies and Brother Eldon Crifasi, SC ’39, director of alumni relations, emeritus, led the blessing before dinner.
