Landon Boeneke sparkled in five innings of relief, allowing three hits and just one run, while K’ing four hitters.
The Bears travel to the Lake Charles area this weekend for the Barbe Tournament, one of the premier early season events in the prep baseball season. CHS will play at Barbe on Thursday, March 2 at 6 p.m. and at Sam Houston on Friday, March 3 at 6 p.m. On Saturday, March 4 the Bears will play Sulphur at 12:15 p.m. at McMurry Park, then wrap up the weekend versus Lafayette High at Sam Houston for 4:30 p.m.
“We will learn so much from our team on this three day road trip,” said sixth year head coach Brad Bass. “Everyone knows about Barbe, but the other three teams we will face are top ten caliber programs in the state. We want our guys to compete hard in Lake Charles. We always come back from this tournament with some of the roles in our lineup more defined. This is a great experience for our program and prep for our challenging schedule.”
