CHS Celebrates 123rd Commencement Exercise
Catholic High School held its 123rd commencement exercise on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Raising Cane’s River Center Arena. Kyle Anthony Becnel was the Valedictorian of the class of 2019 (read his address here) and Edward Grant Alumbaugh was the Salutatorian. Karsten Alexander Brown was named the Outstanding Graduate of the class (read his address here).
The class of 2019 is made up of 274 students. Collectively, the class earned acceptances to 114 different colleges/universities across the country, and accrued more than $23 million in scholarship money excluding TOPS. There were 10 National Merit Finalists, 11 National Merit Semifinalists, six National Merit Commended Students and two National Hispanic Scholars in the class.
With 100 percent of the class taking the ACT, the composite average was 26.5. Six members of the class earned a 36 composite score on the ACT. As a class, they earned more than 23,400 hours of community service.
