CHS Delegates Perform Well At Youth & Government Conference

Fifteen CHS students attended the annual YMCA Youth & Government Model United Nations conference this past weekend. Serving as delegates in the General Assembly, Economic and Social, and Security Councils proved to be an enriching experience for the delegates, as they represented countries as disparate as the United States, Pakistan, Malawi, Mozambique, and Madagascar.

Jakob Greer, Scotty Black, Charles Landry, David Culotta, Michael LaCour, Jackson Bell and Spencer Heitman received the Outstanding Cultural Showcase award for their collaborative effort in representing the United States. Spencer Heitman received the award of Outstanding Delegate in the Security Council, and Jackson Bell received the same honor in his division of the General Assembly.

Josh Boudreaux, David Culotta, Jakob Greer and Charles Landry all passed resolutions in the Plenary session, where they were debated by all delegates at the conference. Spencer Heitman, Marshall St. Amant, Scotty Black, Nolan Waguespack, Andrew Gunnels, Michael LaCour and Luke Cockfield also passed resolutions through their respective councils.
