CHS Eighth Grader Earns Eagle Scout Ranking
Catholic High School eighth grader Byrne Kennedy earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Eagle is the highest rank given by the Boy Scouts of America; and it denotes service, character and leadership. For every 100 boys who join Scouting, only two will achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
To earn this rank, a Scout must progress through six ranks, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, serve in several leadership positions within his troop, and provide service to the community. In addition a Scout must plan, develop and give leadership to a service project for a religious community organization.
Kennedyí´s service project was to make improvements to the playground at Ingleside United Methodist Church.
