CHS Faculty And Staff Attend National Conference On Diversity
As part of this year’s professional development focus on improving diversity dynamics at CHS, Tim Chustz, Lisa Harvey, Sherie LeBlanc and Scott Losavio attended the People of Color Conference in Anaheim, CA, in early December. This conference, hosted by the National Association of Independent Schools, included over 6000 educators from around the country, brought together by a deep desire to facilitate positive advancements in their schools. The contingent from CHS participated in more than 20 workshop sessions covering a wide range of topics. These topics included: Strategies for Creating Equitable Classrooms; Affirming Experiences, Building Bridges and Cultivating Community with Minority Alumni; Cross Cultural Conversations and Communication; Strategies for Minority Students Transitioning to High School and Practicing Deep Listening Skills.
