CHS Golf Competes in First 18-Hole Match of the Season

The Catholic golf team competed in its first 18 hole match of the season on Monday, March 14, at Copper Mill against Zachary. The host Broncos edged out the Bears by a score of 301 to 305. 

Stewart Perilloux was the leading Bear, shooting an even par 72. He finished second behind Zachary’s Brady Bennett who shot a 71. Connor Wilson and D.J. Johnson shot 77 to tie for fourth.

With their first loss of the season, the Bears now stand at 9-1 overall. 

The Catholic B team scored a victory on Monday over the McKinley and Woodlawn varsity teams at Webb Park. Juniors Adam Kelly and Ashton Berret shot 44s to lead all scorers.

The B team will return to the course on Tuesday, March 15, at LSU to face Parkview Baptist’s varsity. The freshmen will play on Wednesday, March 16, at City Park against varsity teams from McKinley and Catholic-Pointe Coupee.
