CHS Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees Selected

Four Catholic High School alumni will be inducted into the CHS Grizzly Greats Athletic Hall of Fame at a banquet to be held on August 9, 2013. Inductees are Pete Boudreaux í´59, Jesse Daigle í´89, Kevin Kleinpeter í´92 and Robby LeBlanc í´96.

Boudreaux has coached at Catholic High for 46 years.  During his time at CHS, he has accumulated 39 State Titles, 20 State Runner-up Titles and 59 District/Metro Titles in Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track.  He was recognized in 2010 by Gill Athletics as the National High School Track and Field Coach of the Year.  In addition, Coach Boudreaux has been named Louisiana Coach of the Year 14 times.

While at CHS, Daigle lettered in football and baseball.  As starting quarterback at CHS, Jesse set numerous records including most yards passing in a game, most total yards gained and highest average yards passing per game.  He is ranked 4th in Career Passing Yards with 3,149 yards and 5th in Career Total Offense with 3,946 yards.  Jesse led the CHS Team Offense of 1988 to the all-time school record of 403.45 yards per game of total offense.  Daigle went to LSU on a full scholarship and was a starting quarterback for the Tigers.

Kleinpeter was a four-year varsity letter Soccer player while at CHS, including his freshman year.  He played on two CHS State Championship teams.  He served as team captain his senior year and was named All-State MVP.  Kevin returned to CHS to serve as Head Soccer Coach from 1995 í 1997 where he was named District Coach of the Year for three straight years.  During his time as coach, his team went undefeated as District Champs all three years and earned a State Runner-Up Title.

LeBlanc was a Track and Cross Country star while at CHS where he ran on four State Championship Teams.  He was an Individual State Champion in Cross Country three years straight, an Individual State Track Champion in the 3200m Outdoor Competition four years straight and for three years in Indoor Track. LeBlanc went on to run track and cross country at LSU.

The CHS Grizzly Greats Hall of Fame honors any person who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the athletic program, selfless sacrifice of time and effort, leadership and whose actions portray characteristics which further the mission of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and whose life and accomplishments can be an inspiration to the athletes of Catholic High.
