CHS Habitat Build Off to a Successful Start

The CHS Habitat Build kicked off on Saturday, September 6 with a  blessing from Brother Ray Hebert, SC.  In addition to students from Key Club, Drama Club, The Mock Trial Club, Student Ministry and Mrs. Costela’s Spanish AP class, faculty and moderators were working throughout the weekend along side homeowner Derrick Gant, his father and son.

“The first weekend of the Catholic High Habitat build was an enormous success. Students and faculty showed up to assist in the build, starting with only a concrete slab on Saturday morning and ending on Sunday afternoon with a framed home. Volunteers had the opportunity to work alongside the homeowner and the Habitat of Baton Rouge staff. In spite of the heat and humidity, everyone had a great time. I am so grateful to everyone who came out to begin this home and I look forward to the next few weekends of the build,” commented CHS Principal Lisa Harvey.

Alumni are invited to participate in the CHS Habitat Build on Saturday, September 13.  Please sign up with the Alumni Office by emailing Alumni Director Glen Randow at grandow@catholichigh.org.
