CHS Hoopsters Cruise Through Gold Dome Classic

The CHS basketball squad recently went 4-0 in the Gold Dome Classic hosted by district rival St. Amant.  The Bears opened tournament play with a win over 2014 5A semifinalist, Thibodaux, by a score of 48-44.  The Bears then rattled off wins over Airline (50-38), Belaire (41-33), and Hammond (64-46).

The Bears are now 7-1 on the season and will take the court on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Covington.  Varsity action tips off at 7:15 p.m.  The Bears will close out play prior to exam week versus Plaquemine on Friday, Dec. 11.  The Bears will be at home with opening tip at 7:15 p.m. The Bears are holding opponents to an average of 39.6 points per game and scoring 47.9 points per game. 

Leading the Bears in scoring is senior Toliver Freeman with 18.5 points per contest.  Freeman is shooting 47% from behind the three point line and 52% from the field overall.  Senior Ethan Treigle is hitting at 8.5 points per game while junior Jacoby Carter is averaging 7.5 points per game.  Treigle is shooting 82% from the free throw line.
