CHS Hoopsters Get Big Win Over Archbishop Rummel

The CHS Bears basketball team advanced to the second round of the Country Day Classic with a 69-56 win over Archbishop Rummel. The Bears and Archbishop Rummel are both members of the Division I Select post-season group, and could see each other again during playoff time.

The Country Day Classic is one of the most prestigious holiday tournaments in the state of Louisiana, attracting basketball powers from all divisions such as recent state champions Scotlandville, Landry-Walker, Riverside, De La Salle, Crescent City and Country Day.

The 9-2 Bears will face McDonogh 35 of New Orleans in the second round at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Country Day gym in Metairie. McDonogh 35 has three starters that stand 6’5 or taller and will roll out three more players off the bench that check in at 6’4.
