CHS Intramural Athletic Program Is Flourishing

The Catholic High Intramural program was in full swing this weekend with both flag football and basketball competition taking place. These programs offer students a tremendous way to compete in games they enjoy.

A battle of senior laden undefeated flag football teams took place on the CHS practice field Sunday and may have offered us a preview of the championship game. The Rukus team lead by Chris Lewis and Michael Billings defeated the Flying Purple People Eaters who are coached by Brett Murray and David Bayard. The final score was 19-0.

The Rukus team had an impressive first drive which resulted in a touchdown and their defense maintained their seasonal dominance. No team has scored against Rukus this year and Andrew McGinty secured this streak with a late interception of Robbie Apple.

This Sunday is the conclusion of the regular season and the championship game will take place Sunday, January 29th. Come check out the competition, the game will start at 12:00.
