CHS Juniors Ryan and Collin DeVillier Earn Eagle Scout Rank

Catholic High School juniors, Ryan and Collin DeVillier, members of Troop 53 in Port Allen, have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. To earn this rank, a Scout must progress through six ranks, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, serve in several leadership positions within his troop, and provide service to the community. In addition a Scout must plan, develop and give leadership to a service project for a religious or community organization.

Ryan’s service project consisted of building slant boards for the West Baton Rouge Parish School System.  These slant boards are used by children with special needs to elevate a child’s hands in order to improve writing skills. Ryan’s project donated four of these slant boards.

Collin’s service project consisted of building book stands for the West Baton Rouge Parish School System.  These book stands are used by children with special needs to improve their reading skills by giving them the right angle to best fit their reading needs.

Ryan and Collin will be presented with their Eagle Scout Rank at their Eagle Scout Court of Honor to be held in January 2016.
