CHS Lacrosse Makes Statement In District Opener

The Bear lacrosse team opened district play Wednesday, Feb. 17, against Central.  The offense fired on all cylinders, with nine CHS players scoring goals in a 16-1 runaway victory to climb to 4-3 overall.

The offense was led by the three goal, hat trick efforts of Holden Farmer and Holden David. Christopher Miller, Taylor Empson and Grant Wilkinson each had two goals. Miller also had six assists, while David and Farmer chipped in two assists each.

The Bears’ defense smothered the Wildcat’s offense, allowing just four shots on goal with CHS keeper Beau Abadie collecting three saves. CHS long stick midfielder Taylor Fontenot, had four ground balls and three takeaways.

The Bears are back in action this weekend with two games on their home turf. On Saturday, Feb. 20, CHS will meet Byrd at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 21, they will match-up against Friendswood at 10:00 a.m.
