CHS Lacrosse With Big District Win

The Lafayette Hurricanes traveled east to Baton Rouge on Friday night to battle the CHS lacrosse team. The Bears started off slowly, but caught fire in the second half to run away with the game, bringing home a 16-2 victory and raising their district record to 2-0.

The offense was led by Holden David, Clayton Rives and Evan Fontenot who all had hat tricks (three goals) in the game. Christopher Miller was also a major contributor to the offense, picking up a goal to go with his five assists (six points).  Additionally, Nick Carville won nineteen of his twenty-three faceoffs, continuing his dominance at midfield.

The defense, led by keeper Beau Abadie and his starting long poles Matthew Miller, Jack Thomas and Michael Browning shut down the Hurricane offense all night, allowing just three shots on goal.

The Bears return to action on Thursday, March 3, as they host St. Martin’s from Metairie at
6:30 p.m. The JV squad will host Rummel on Tuesday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m.
