CHS Mourns the Loss of Grizzly Great Jerry Marchand ’49
Catholic High School mourns the loss of CHS Hall of Famer and Grizzly Great Athletic Hall of Famer Jerry Marchand í´49.
Mr. Marchand and his wife, Linda, were inducted into the Catholic High School Hall of Fame on December 5, 2013 at the 29th Annual Hall of Fame Induction and Founders Banquet. The Marchandí´s were recognized for their generosity to not only Catholic High but also the Baton Rouge community.
In 1975, Jerry was inducted as a Catholic High Grizzly Great. He was later inducted into the LSU Hall of Fame in recognition of his accomplishments in football and baseball. Additionally, he was
inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Outdoor Advertising Association of America.
Linda and Jerry have three children: Matt í´84; Paul í´86 and Tena, SJA Class of 1988.
