CHS Senior Counselor Jennifer Thibodeaux Receives SACAC Award

Catholic High School Senior Class Counselor and College Counselor Jennifer Thibodeaux was the recipient of the Presidentí´s Award for Excellence at the Southern Association of College Admissions Counselors annual conference held in Arlington, Virginia on April 21-24, 2012.  The Presidentí´s Award of Excellence is annually presented to an individual in recognition of his/her outstanding contributions to students and the college counseling profession.

The Southern Association for College Admission Counseling has approximately 1600 members from secondary schools, colleges and universities and educational consulting firms in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and the Caribbean.

During her career as Guidance Counselor, Jennifer has served as Local Arrangements Chair for the NACAC (National Association of College Admissions Counselors) National College Fair in Baton Rouge since 2008.  She has served as Co-Chairperson for the Evaluations Committee for SACACí´s (Southern Association of College Admissions Counselors) Annual Conference from 2007 until 2009 and served on the Nominations Committee for SACAC in 2011. 

Thibodeaux has served as presenter at the SACAC Annual Conference in 2006 in St. Petersburg, Florida and the SACAC-Sponsored Counselor Drive-In Workshop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2008 and as a volunteer for Mini Camp College in Atlanta, Georgia in 2007.  She previously served on the High School Advisory Committee for the University of Georgia.
