CHS Senior Earns Rank Of Eagle Scout
Congratulations to CHS senior Philip Tullier, for earning the rank of Eagle Scout. Philip is a member of Our Lady of Mercy’s Boy Scout Troop 12. He has been in the scouts for the past 11 years since joining Cub Scout Pack 12 as a Tiger Cub.
Philip’s Eagle Scout Project was refurbishing a dozen benches located around the fishing ponds at Waddill Wildlife Refuge. The existing wood on the benches needed to be replaced and the metal frame work needed to be repainted. He coordinated with the management of the refuge to get funding for the project and recruited many fellow scouts, their dads and even family members to help. To complete the project, the old wood was removed and discarded, the frames were wire brushed and repainted, and new wood was placed on the benches.
In addition to reaching the rank of Eagle Scout, Philip served Troop 12 as Troop Quartermaster, Senior Patrol Leader and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. He earned a total of 30 merit badges and has attended several summer and winter camp sessions.
