CHS Seniors Named National Merit and Achievement Finalists
Eleven Catholic High School seniors were named National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship program and one senior was named National Achievement Finalist.
National Merit Finalists include Daniel Babin, Ethan Beaman, Jake Bowers, Stephen Crosby, Tyler Daigrepont, Joseph Delaune, Joshua Edwards, Daniel Gates, Sam Justice, Kurt Ristroph and Benjamin Wiseman.
These young men, who demonstrated exemplary academic performance in grades 9-12, were selected through a screening process of entrants by taking the PSAT/NMSQT.
Approximately 16,000 U.S. students were announced as semifinalists, with 15,000 students advancing to the finalist level. From this group, approximately 8,200 Merit Scholarship winners will be chosen.
Merit Scholars are selected on the basis of their accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
Catholic High Senior Kevin Paul has been named a Finalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Program.
Approximately, 1,600 students were named semifinalists, with 80 percent being named finalists. Paul is eligible for one of 800 Achievement Scholarships to be offered in the spring.
