CHS/SJA Alumni-Hosted Tournament Draws More Than 100 Participants

SJA/CHS Alumni organized and hosted a Tennis Tournament at Bocage Racquet Club on February 22 – 24. Over 100 players participated in the three-day tournament.

Opening rounds began Friday, February 22 followed by a social at Bocage including hors dí´oeuvres, cocktails and a DJ. Competition continued Saturday with the finals held on Sunday afternoon.

Winning team of the Mení´s Open Doubles was Michael Lang and Gerald Kahle.  Mení´s Open Doubles runner-up was the team of John Lopoo í´88 and Chad Dudley. Consolation champion in Mení´s Open Doubles was the team of Stephen Hightower í´91 and Ed Gaskell.

Champion of the Mení´s 3.5 Doubles was the team of Troy Goings and Randy Whittington.  Consolation champion was Danny Fawley í´93 and Jimbo Hoffman.

Mení´s 4.0 Doubles winners were David McGraw and Jude Oliver. Consolation final was Jimmy Ott and Tony Pastor.

Champion of the Womení´s 4.0 Doubles was the team of CHS Guidance Counselor Cathy Robichaux and Madeline Murphy. 

Winners of the Womení´s 2.5 Doubles were Mary Gladney and Caroline Watson.

In Womení´s 3.0 Doubles, winners were Kristen Binning and Amy Sylvester. Consolation final team winners were Paula Davis and Sheila Gordon.

Winners of the Womení´s 3.5 Doubles were Amy Herring and Lisa Scalise. Consolation final winner was the team of Madelene Hill and Jane Wood.

Champion of the Womení´s 4.0 Doubles was the team of CHS Guidance Counselor Cathy Robichaux and Madeline Murphy. 

Chairman of the tennis tournament was Stephen Eisenbraun í´78. Eisenbraun was assisted by Stephen Hightower í´91, director of culinary services at Bocage.
