CHS Soccer Back in State Final

Catholic High will be back in the Division I state soccer final after their decisive 5-0 semifinal victory over C.E. Byrd.

Blake Cook opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a left-footed effort.

1-0 at halftime, the Bears came alive in the second half, scoring three goals in a span of 18 minutes to bring the score to 4-0.

Marcello Occupati’s curled effort from 25 yards was the best goal of the evening, finishing off the scoring spree.

The final between No.1 Catholic and No.6 St. Paul’s will be this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The game will be played at Southeastern University’s Strawberry Stadium in Hammond.
