CHS Soccer Battles in Brothers of the Sacred Heart Tourney

The CHS soccer team participated in a highly competitive Brothers of the Sacred Heart tournament hosted by Vandebilt Catholic in Houma on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 18 and 19. The Bears opened tournament play with a 2-0 win over E.D. White on Friday.  Cole Cazenave and Patrick Dunn tallied scores for the Bears as CHS had eight shots on goal to the Cardinals’ two.  Will Whitehead was in goal for the Bears.  

Saturday, the Bears dropped a tight match to Brother Martin 2-1, and a 2-0 decision to Vandebilt Catholic.  Jordi Osuna scored the lone goal versus the Crusaders in the day’s first match.  Will Whitehead notched three saves against Brother Martin.  In the nightcap against VC, Whitehead had three saves, while Patrick Riley picked up four saves.

The Bears are now 5-4-1 on the season and will take a break from action due to semester exams.  The soccer team will return to the pitch on Monday, Dec. 21, on the road in Lafayette versus Acadiana High.  Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
