CHS Soccer Team Shuts-Out Walker 4-0 in District Opener
The CHS Soccer team moved its record to 8-6-1 on the season with a 4-0 win over Walker on Tuesday, Jan. 12. The victory was also the district opener for both teams. The Bears received outstanding defensive work, allowed zero shots on goal for the Wildcats and were relentless on the offensive end, scoring on four of their 17 shots on goal and possessing the ball for almost two-thirds of the game.
The Bears got on the board quickly on a penalty kick in the 7th minute by Michael Focht. The constant pressure put on Walker led to back to back goals in the 24th and 27th minutes. Dylan Thompson scored on a corner kick courtesy of Focht, then Bobby Lee found the back of the net after a breakaway assist from Focht. The rout was on when Matthew Morales scored off a Bobby Lee pass in the 40th minute and the Bears took a 4-0 lead into intermission and nursed the lead for the entire second half.
