CHS Sophomore Chosen as Honor Cadet at the Louisiana Wings Annual Summer Wing Encampment
C/TSGT Frederick Antoine, a CHS sophomore, was chosen as Honor Cadet while attending the Louisiana Wings Annual Summer Wing Encampment held at Barksdale Air Force Base in July. Antoine was the first person in his squadron to receive this honor out of the 110 cadets attending.
The nine day Summer Wing Encampment is for students with an interest in the Air Force. It is designed to teach cadets about the chain of command for the Air Force and instill a sense of discipline. During the training, cadets had the opportunity to eat in the Warrior Center and interact with the Barksdale Airmen. Cadets shot weapon simulators, were taught water survival and experienced an obstacle course at Fort Minden. Antoine and his squadron drilled on flight lines and met with a pilot and navigator, one a Harvard graduate and one an Air Force Academy graduate.
Frederick’s future plans include attending the Air Force Academy.
