CHS Sophomore Earns The Rank Of Eagle Scout
Catholic High School sophomore Chris Grant has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Grant is a member of BSA Troop 14.
To earn this rank, a Scout must progress through six ranks, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, serve in several leadership positions within his troop and provide service to the community. In addition, a Scout must plan, develop and give leadership to a service project for a religious or community organization.
For his service project, Grant created a recreational space for the students who attend Thrive Academy. The academy serves predominately underprivileged youth, and did not have the necessary resources to repair and improve their outdoor play area. Grant organized and conducted fundraisers for the project which included a new volleyball court, new basketball goals for the basketball court, a new tetherball area and trash cans for the grounds.
