More than 30 CHS juniors and seniors joined one hundred students from five other schools at St. Stanislaus for the annual Judy Stewart Student Ministry Workshop.
Alongside their peers from Brother Martin, E.D. White, St. Scholastica, St. Stanislaus and Vandebilt, the CHS student ministry team spent three days praying and learning together to prepare to serve our school community for the upcoming school year. They were trained to lead small groups, serve at liturgies, honor confidentiality limits, recognize the stages of grief, plan retreats and prayer services, and much more. The workshop offered them valuable prayer opportunities and experiences, and concluded with a commissioning mass attended by CHS Principal, Lisa Harvey.
Several Brothers of the Sacred Heart participated in helping to keep the workshop faithful to their charism, including Br. Bernard Couvillion, Br. John Hebert, Br. Ray Hebert, Br. John Hotstream and Br. Michael Migacz. Mr. Christopher Davis and Mr. Lucas Jaet, who are both in formation with the Brothers as pre-novices, were also on hand to make sure the workshop was a success.
The student ministers left the workshop inspired to bring the blessings of their experience to all in the CHS community throughout the year.
