CHS Students Attend Cyber Discovery 2.0 at Louisiana Tech
CHS students attended Cyber Discovery 2.0 at Louisiana Tech from July 20 í 25, 2015.
Cyber Discovery 2.0 (CD 2.0) is a week-long, catalytic event for engaging rising juniors in the world of cyber through analysis and investigation. CD 2.0 is driven by a scenario-based approach to security issues that incorporate hands-on engineering and computer science labs, cryptography, film sessions and a final cyber challenge. In addition, it integrates the history, ethical issues, applications and theory behind the development of analysis and synthesis of information in the context of threat assessment to critical systems.
The CD 2.0 experience includes hands-on activities that incorporate investigative analysis in a challenging and interactive learning environment. CD 2.0 gives students the opportunity to experience events related to national intelligence on a dynamic, interactive level.
Teachers from each school attended professional development workshops before leading a student team in challenges at the week-long residential program. Cyber Discovery 2.0 is supported by a grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
