CHS Students Attend LASC Summer Workshop

Twenty-one CHS student council members attended the Louisiana Student Council summer workshop at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on June 7 through 11.

The LASC, or Louisiana Association of Student Councils, holds an annual four day workshop every year in Natchitoches at Northwestern University. Student council members representing their respected schools from every corner of the state are present at workshop including Catholic High student council members. During workshop, delegates are challenged with problem solving exercises, idea exchanging and work on skills to become a better leader in their school.

Five CHS Student Council members participated in the inaugural lip sync battle in which they performed to One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.” The next night, they participated in the talent show in which they hip-hop danced to music.

CHS alumni Jacob Oubre í´13, Joe Gipson í´10 and Simon Silverberg í´15 were a part of the staff at the workshop as well as CHS faculty member Fiona Conroy.

íÍThe workshop was a memorable one for all schools that attended and certainly for us CHS boys,íñ says CHS Student Council member Lance Rodriguez.
