CHS Students Attend St. Anneí´s Mission in Klagetoh, Arizona
Eight CHS students and six SJA students attended St. Anneí´s Mission in Klagetoh, Arizona, on a Navajo reservation. Run by the Brother of the Sacred Heart, the Mission took place June 7 – 14, 2014.
Each year, groups of volunteers come out to serve the faithful in the communities of Klagetoh. CHS and SJA participantsí´ primary responsibility was putting on Vacation Bible School for the local children involving scripture lessons, arts and crafts, games and music.
After Vacation Bible School, participants had the opportunity to travel to Window Rock, the capital of the Navajo Nation. Other outings included hiking in Canyon de Chelly National Park and visiting Petrified Forest National Park.
The students were also able to see a performance of traditional Native American dances and participate in a traditional sweat lodge prayer ceremony.
