CHS Students Excel On National Latin Exam

Forty-eight Latin students won awards for their outstanding performance on the 2018 National Latin Exam in March. The NLE is an annual academic contest sponsored by the American Classical League and the National Junior Classical League. Over 150,000 students across the country and the world participate in the exam. Questions cover topics on Latin grammar, reading comprehension, mythology, derivatives, literature, Roman life, history, geography, oral Latin, and Latin in use in the modern world.

These young Latin scholars will be honored at the Academic Convocation in the Fall.

Latin III Honors student Grant Alumbaugh ’19 was among the very few students (less than 1%) in the country to achieve a perfect score! He will receive a special award for this distinction.
