CHS Students Take Top Honors In State Literary Rally

Twenty students from Catholic High School received top honors in the State Literary Rally held at Louisiana State University on April 25.

Receiving 1st place were Ethan Beaman in Latin II (overall winner); Nathan Bush, Advanced Math I; Zachary Freeman, Accounting I; Austin Gerald, World History (overall winner); Michael Kelly, Algebra II; Alex Maris, Biology II; Chandler McArthur, physical science; and Andr_ Wiggins, computer science (overall winner).

Placing second at the State Rally were Mark Babin, Algebra I; Hilliard Chesteen, environmental science; Michael St. Blanc, Spanish III.

Third place finishers were Stephen Crosby, biology; Mark Rolfsen, calculus; Charles Weimer, Advanced Math II; and Kenneth Zielewski, Spanish II.

Finishing in fourth place was Anson Becnel, English IV.

In addition, Brady Sperier received Superior ratings in French Interpretive Reading I.

Receiving Excellent ratings were Justin Kennedy, French Interpretive Reading III; Brandon Schrimsher, Spanish Extemporaneous Speaking II; and Christopher Sloas, French Interpretive Reading II.
