CHS Swim Team To Compete in LHSAA State Swim Meet
The CHS Swim team will compete in the LHSAA Division 1 State Swim Meet on Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 at the SPAR Center in Sulphur, Louisiana. Prelims on Friday begin at 4 p.m. and Finals on Saturday begin at 3 p.m. The Bears will be going for their 3rd straight Division 1 State Championship, and 4th in the last five years.
The line up for the Bears:
200 Free: Mason Nyboer, Lance Michael Rodriguez, Will de la Bretonne, Sam Gianfala
200 IM: Braden Nyboer, Michael Padial, Jonathan Mckeough, Daniel Woodruff
50 Free: Colin Bone, Nick Romero, Carter Richard, Chase Brouillette
100 Fly: Will de la Bretonne, Brennan Burke, Connor Waits, Andrew Ford
100 Free: Colin Bone, Nick Romero, Carter Richard, SIon Cavana
500 Free: Braden Nyboer, Mason Nyboer, Lance Michael Rodriguez, Daniel Woodruff
100 Back: SIon Cavana, Grant Dawson, Blake Pizzolato, Duffy Duncan
100 Breast: Jonathan Mckeough, Michael Padial, Tyler Mccullough, Jack Lopoo
The Bears also will compete in the 3 relays: 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 free relay.
The top competition for the Bears will be the Jesuit Blue Jays who have won 36 out of the last 40 state championships at the highest classification of the LHSAA. “The Blue Jays are always tough and are always ready to swim fast at state meet. We will have to swim extremely fast in prelims to set ourselves up to score points on Saturday afternoon in the Finals. We have a large group of juniors and seniors who are ready to complete the task,” said CHS head swim coach Doug Logsdon.
