CHS Swim Team Wins Fourth State Title in Five Years
The Catholic High School swim team won the LHSAA Division 1 state championship in Sulphur, Louisiana on Saturday, Nov. 21. It is the 3rd consecutive division 1 championship for the Bears and 4th in 5 years. Click here to see the full results.
The Bears scored a total of 445 points which is the second highest point total CHS has ever scored at state meet, and the 146 point margin of victory is the 2nd largest in school history. The Bears won six out of 11 events, including all three relays; only the second time in school history the team has won all three relays (2013). The six event wins is the second most at state meet in school history.

Colin Bone was named outstanding male swimmer of the meet for the 4th consecutive year and set LHSAA division 1 and composite state records and school records in the 50 free (20.49) and 100 free (44.71, breaking his own record set in 2014). Boneí´s 50 and 100 free were both Automatic All-American swims. Bone is now 16-0 in his career at the LHSAA Division 1 state swim meet and holds the LHSAA Division 1 and Composite Records as well as school records in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free (2013). He is also the LHSAA Division 1 and school record holder in the 500 free (2013) and was a member of the LHSAA Division 1 and Composite state record holding 200 free relay (2014) and 400 free relay (2013). Both relays were also school records. He has now achieved All-American status for a school record 12th time in his career.
The 2015 senior class comprised of Bone, Brennan Burke, Chase Brouillette, Duffy Duncan, Connor Waits, Brendan Hardin, Jorge Getz, Brandon Chatelain, Jason Francioni, Jackson Marcin and Matt Miyagi have now set a school record for most consecutive state titles (3) and have tied the 2014 senior class for most state titles in a career (3).
