CHS Swim Team Wins State Title

The CHS Swim team dominated the competition at the LHSAA Division 1 State Swim Meet November 22 and 23 at SPAR Aquatics Center in Sulphur, Louisiana to win the 2013 Swimming State Championship. This is the 2nd title in 3 years for the Bears who dominated with a school record margin of victory of 162.5 points over 2nd place team Jesuit High School. The Bears set school records in 6 events, all 3 relays, and set a school record for most relays won at a single state meet by winning all 3 relays. The team also set a school record of 463.5 points scored at state meet.
In addition, the Bears set 2 composite LHSAA State records and 2 Division 1 LHSAA State records on the weekend and achieved 2 All American Consideration cuts and 1 All American Automatic cut.

“The highlight of the weekend was definitely the 400 freestyle relay. It was the last event of the entire meet, and to go that fast was really something special,” commented Head Swim Coach Doug Logsdon.
