Anthony Cane has committed to swim in college at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Cane has lettered all four years at Catholic High and was a member of the 2005 State Championship team as well as the State Runner-up team in 2003, 2004 and 2006.
He was a member of the 400 Free Relay Team that captured the State Title in 2005 and 2006 and was State Runner-up in the 100 free style his junior year. Cane, who swims the 100 free style and 200 IM, has been selected All-Metro all 4 years at Catholic High.
His sophomore year he received the most improved player award at the annual sports convocation and received the Coach’s Award at the 2007 convocation.
‘I chose University of Massachusetts because of the swim team and the coach. I seemed to fit well with the team. I also enjoyed the school and the atmosphere,’ commented Cane.
Anthony is the son of Helen and Vincenzo Cane and plans to major in civil engineering and architecture.
