CHS Swimmers Compete in State Long Course Meet

Today is the start of the Louisiana swimming long course state championship at the University of New Orleans Aquatic Center. The meet will begin at 5 p.m. and will continue through Sunday.

Year-round swimming teams from all over the state will come to New Orleans to compete for the long course state title. Some of these teams include the New Orleans Crescent City Swim Club, The City of Shreveport Swim Team, Mandevilleí´s Francoí´s Fins and Baton Rougeí´s Tiger Aquatic Club and Crawfish Aquatics.

Several Catholic High Swimmers will be competing with their respective club teams in this weekendí´s championship. Some Bears who will be swimming include: Grant Grenfell  ’12, Colin Finnegan  ’12, Braydon Bergeron ’12, Colin Bone  ’16, Brady Grenfell  ’15, Alex Goay  ’14, Matt Frederic ’14, Connor Futch  ’15, Jackson Forbes ’14, Christian Lemoine  ’15 and Casey Panepinto  ’13.

Long course swimming takes place in a 50 meter pool, while short course swimming takes place in a 25 yard pool.
