CHS Swimmers Fine-Tune for Season Opener

The 2016 swim team kicked off its season with a intrasquad meet with St. Joseph’s Academy last Saturday at the LSU Natatorium.  Coach Doug Logsdon walked away pleased with his team’s effort.  “It was a really good, competitive way to start off the year.  Many of the swimmers found that they are well ahead of the times they swam at state meet last year. For the new guys, it was a good first experience to see how high school meets operate.  We had several guys that logged personal best times and achieve times that would qualify them for the state meet”, noted the long time CHS coach.

The top swimmers (by event) on Saturday at LSU were: 200 Free – Sion Cavana; 200 IM – Michael Padial; 50 Free – Carter Richard; 100 Fly – Michael Padial; 100 IM – Sion Cavana; 100 Backstroke – Grant Dawson; and 100 Breaststroke – Grant Mckeough.

The Bears open the regular season in Mobile at the Splashin’ Dash Meet hosted by McGill-Toolen High School.  The swimmers hit the pool on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17.
