CHS Swimmers Get Post Season Recognition

The Bears’ swim team was well-represented on this year’s All-Metro swim team. The Bears captured an unprecedented 28th consecutive city championship on their way to Division I state runners-up honors in 2017.

CHS was led by 15-year head coach Doug Logsdon, an alumnus swimmer from the Class of 2002. The Bears landed five swimmers on the All-Metro squad, led by Outstanding Swimmer Sion Cavana. Cavana, the 100 and 200 freestyle state champ, won the award for the second consecutive year. The CHS senior will swim for the Air Force Academy next year. Seniors Grant Dawson and Tyler McCullough, junior Daniel Woodruff and sophomore Mason Nyboer were also named to the All-Metro team.

The Bears also landed nine members of the team on the 2017 All-Academic team.
