CHS Track And Field Dominates At Brothers Of The Sacred Heart Invitational

The 34th annual Brothers of the Sacred Heart Invitational looked to be in jeopardy with a forecast that showed rain and a radar to match. The bad weather stayed away, but the Bears showed up and pointed in all 18 events to take the week two event with 247 points. Denham Springs was the closest competitor with 94 points. Brother Martin finished third with E.D. White fourth and University fifth.

Ascension Catholic, Jehoveh Jireh, Southern Lab and St. Michael also participated in the BOSH Invitational.

Results of the meet with CHS athletes that scored in the top three:

Javelin: Jacob Thornton 2nd, Jacob Meek 3rd
Shot Put: Zach Tom 1st, Tyler Hendricks 2n
Discus: Matthew Berdon 1st, London Lewis 2nd

Long Jump: Matt Major, 3rd
Triple Jump: Kam Cummings 1st
High Jump: Jay Arcemont 1st
Pole Vault: Cameron Reed 1st

4×100: 2nd in a time of 0:46.1
4×200: 1st in a time of 1:32.3
4×400: 1st in a time of 3:30.9

The Bears return to action on Saturday, March 18 in the CHS Alumni Meet. Field events begin at 11 a.m. with the running events set to begin at 1 p.m.
