CHS Wrestlers Grab Post-Season Honors

Post-season wrestling honors were handed out by The Advocate recently, and the Catholic program racked up big time. Coaches and wrestlers dotted the All-Metro team named by area wrestling coaches.

Head coach Thomas Prochaska, picked up another Division I Metro Coach of the Year award and Ben DiPalma picked up Assistant Coach of the Year honors. Both Catholic alums and former standout wrestlers in their own right, the duo has engineered one of the most successful programs in the history of Baton Rouge. This year, the Bears captured their fifteenth City Championship since 2000.

First Team All-Metro selections for the Bears were the four City Champions:
Junior Cameron Carpenter (120), senior Davis Polito (138), sophomore Jacob Fereday (160) and senior K.J. Wilson (285).

Second Team All-Metro selections for the Bears:
Daniel Gunn (126), Brent Torres (145), Andrew Messina (152), Nick Danna (195) and James DeLee (220).
