CHS Wrestlers Reach Out With A Spirit Of Compassion
For the third year in a row, the CHS wrestling team spent a Saturday in August building a wheelchair ramp for a member of the community. The wrestling program uses this annual project to teach the importance of serving others. It is a great hands-on experience for these young men as they learn how to use many different tools, and see a meaningful project through from start to finish.
Each year this project has been made possible by Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge, who generously provided all materials. Rebuilding Together Baton Rouge is a local affiliate of a national organization that brings volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income elderly or disabled homeowners. It is the only organization in this area that provides services of this nature to the community.
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14
