CHS Wrestling Team Moves Record to 28-2

The CHS Wrestling Team placed fifth in the Deep South Bayou Duals on December 29 at the River Center changing their record to 28-2 in dual meets on the year.

The Bears defeated Acadiana (74-6), Duncan High (45-11), Archbishop Shaw (63-10), Jesuit (50-18), Liverpool High (37-19), Live Oak (60-18) and Arlington High (47-24), and fell short to Altus High (15-46) and Thompson High (24-51).

The team also placed second in the Hoover Invitational in Hoover, Alabama, on January 2 with a score of 699.

Individual results include MJ Coates (106), seventh place; Cameron Carpenter (113), third place; Lance Blanchard (120), eighth place; Dominic Dewey (120), third place; Josh Matthews (126), first place; Tristan Williams (132), fourth place; Davis Polito (138), fifth place; Mitch Vidrine (138) third place; Cameron Murray (145), ninth place; Jacob Fereday (145), third place; Sam Bourgoyne (152), eighth place; Matt Mire (152), second place; Andrew Messina (160), fifth place; Nick Danna (170) seventh place; Connor Ortego (182), seventh place; James DeLee (220), fifth place; and Aaron Wiltz (285), second place.

Next, the Bears will hosts Teurlings Catholic in the gym on Tuesday, Jan. 5. The Bears recently defeated Teurlings in the Catholic High School Wrestling Invitational 37-34.
