Class of 2015 Receives Senior Rings
The Presentation of the Class of 2015 and Ring Ceremony were held Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 6 p.m. in the Catholic High School Gymnasium. Brother Ray Hebert served as celebrant and Father Trey Nelson, CHS Class of 1980, was the homilist for the mass. Deacon Richard Grant, father of junior Daniel Grant, assisted with the Mass.
Two hundred and fifty-six members of the class of 2015 were introduced as the leaders for the 2014-2015 school year and presented their senior rings. According to the “Symbolism of the Catholic High School Ring,” the Catholic High School Ring is a symbol of the loyalty, dependability and courage needed in the never-ending struggle to live up to the ideals of Christianity.
íÍIt is always exciting to see the students receive their rings and this year was extra special since I was also in attendance as a parent of a junior. The tradition of using family rings, some dating back to the 1950í´s, is unique to Catholic High,íñ commented CHS Student Activities Director Janet Vidrine.
