Congratulations to CHS Senior Kylle Poiencot for Attaining Eagle Scout
Congratulations to CHS Senior, Kylle Poiencot, who earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts while a member of Our Lady of Mercy’s Troop 12. He has been in the scouts since he joined the Our Lady of Mercy Cub Scout Pack 12 in the Fall of 2007 during his first grade year, for a total of 11 years.
For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Kylle rebuilt the housing for the outside Stations of the Cross for Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. He led his project thru to completion after working on it for over 10 months. Each housing had to be completely rebuild. He started by measuring the existing boxes, drawing up blueprints, acquiring the cypress lumber needed, and then directed his crew in cutting out the pieces, then assembling and staining the boxes. Finally, he led the team in removing all the existing boxes and replacing them with the new. This included installing new posts, removing the statuary and cleaning them and then re-installing them in the new boxes. As seen in the picture, the finished product was well received by OLOM.
In addition to reaching the rank of Eagle Scout, Kylle served Troop 12 as Senior Patrol Leader, Bugler, and Patrol Leader. He earned a total of 105 Merit Badges and a total of 16 palms. He has attended 7 BSA Summer Camps, serving as Senior Patrol Leader for 2.
