Cross Country Team Competes in Episcopal Two-Miler
The CHS Cross Country team participated in the Episcopal Two Miler on Saturday, October 24. The Bears had 46 runners compete in the competitive “friendly” against their running rival from across town.
The top six runners, all cracking the 11-minute mark, for the Bears were: Peter Laville (10:37); Harold Miller (10:48); Robert Peek (10:55); Josh Durnin (10:56); Collin Sarrazin (10:58); and Tre’ Shamlin (10:58).
The junior high had eight runners crack the 12-minute barrier for two miles. Those Bears were: Brian Miller (11:07); Quinn Ostrowe (11:34); James Lalonde (11:35); Carter Rome (11:36); Britt Mclindon (11:37); Luke Romano (11:47); Jack Lieux (11:53); and Andy Mertz (11:56).
Due to the ACT being scheduled on Saturday, multiple runners competed in a two mile run at Catholic High on Friday afternoon. Seniors Jeffrey Kelley (9:50) and David Toups (10:08) were the fastest Bears in the eight lap race. John Donner (10:42), Thomas Laville (10:44) and Michael Hubbell (10:45) rounded out the top five on Friday.
The Big Orange Wave get back in action on Monday, November 2, at HIghland Road Park. The thincladders will compete in the Interschool meet on Monday involving the Bears, SJA, Episcopal and St. Michael.
