Dr. Gregory A. Brandao ’73 Inducted into CHS Hall of Fame
Dr. Gregory A. Brandao was inducted into the Catholic High School Hall of Fame December 4 at 7:15 p.m. at the 24th Annual Founders Banquet at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center.
Greg Brandao, a 1973 graduate of Catholic High School, is a consultant and executive trainer with Education, Research and Information Services, Inc. In addition, he also serves as a member of the CHS Foundation Board of Directors, organizer and presenter of the CHS ACT preparation program and member of the radio broadcast team for the Catholic High football games.
In addition to his two-year service as Catholic High School Director of Development, Greg served as CHS Principal from 1993 to 2004. During his 11 year tenure, Catholic High was nationally recognized three of the four times by the U.S. Department of Education as a National School of Excellence.
Mr. and Mrs. Randy Ellis, Mr Rick Lea, and Mr. and Mrs. Price LeBlanc were also honored as CHS Perpetual Founders for their generous donation of $100,000 or more to Catholic High School during their lifetime.
Pat Shingleton served as the master of ceremonies of the 24th Annual Founders Banquet and Gene Tullier, CHS president, inducted Dr. Greg Brandao in the Hall of Fame.
Hal Dupuy, director of development, recognized the National Honor Society, Alumni Association and Past Mothers’ Club President Cary Kearny and Past Men’s Club President Wayne Dugas for their contributions to CHS in the 2007-2008 fiscal year. Dupuy also acknowledged Gwen and Matt Cotten, 2007-2008 PAGE chaircouple, for their leadership with the annual appeal. Additionally, members of the
Catholic High School Board of Directors in attendance presented plaques to the new CHS Founders. Board members presenting were Carol Bonnecaze, Blane Clark, Brother Barry Landry, SC, Brother Ivy LeBlanc, SC, Doug Nelson, Marlene Sheely, Brother Chris Sweeney, SC, Gerald Tullier and John Valluzzo.
