Eight Students Recognized as National Merit Finalists
Eight Catholic High School Seniors were named National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship program. National Merit Finalists include Joseph Balhoff, Josh Bishop, Julien Bourgeois, Joshua Campbell, Andrew Chenevert, Matt Comeaux, Connor Ortego and Simon Silverberg.
These young men, who demonstrated exemplary academic performance in grades 9-12, were selected through a screening process of entrants by taking the PSAT/NMSQT.
Approximately 16,000 U.S. students were announced as semifinalists, with 15,000 students advancing to the finalist level. From this group, approximately 8,200 Merit Scholarship winners will be chosen.
Merit Scholars are selected on the basis of their accomplishments, skills and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
