Ethan Ford, Nick Dileo and Jake Rovira ’17 Earn the Rank of Eagle Scouts
Seniors Ethan Ford and Nick Dileo, and recent CHS graduate, Jake Rovira Õ17, earned the rank of Eagle Scout on September 19, 2017. Ford, Dileo and Rovira are members of Troop 7.
To earn this rank, a Scout must progress through six ranks, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, serve in several leadership positions within his troop and provide service to the community. In addition, a Scout must plan, develop and give leadership to a service project for a religious or community organization.
FordÕs Eagle project was renovating the stairs to the choir loft at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. The stairs were stripped to bare wood, all of the hardware and hand rails removed, and everything sanded and refinished.
RoviraÕs Eagle project was building wood duck boxes which were auctioned to private land owners. Proceeds from the auction will be used by the Louisiana Wildlife Federation for conservation purposes.
DileoÕs project was cataloging books at the Gardere Initiative. This project was carried out by several scouts, many of which are CHS students, over numerous weekends to ready this service organizationÕs community library more assessable to the adults, adolescents and children of this neighborhood.
